Building Your Game: Executable, Icon, and Sharing
Once your game is ready, it's time to build it for others to play.
Naming and Icon
Go to Project Settings -> Player.
- set the Product Name - this will be the name of your executable (e.g. Bubble Jump);
- assign an icon for the executable.
Requirements:
- must be square (edit/crop your image if needed);
- can be your player sprite, logo, or any custom image.
Build Settings
Open File -> Build Settings.
- ensure all game scenes are included;
- drag your main menu scene to the top of the list to load first;
- select your target platform (
Windows,Mac, etc.).
Click Build, choose a save location, and wait for Unity to compile your game.
First builds can take several minutes.
Sharing Your Game
After building, locate your executable in the build folder.
To share your game:
- remove unnecessary folders (
Library,Temp, etc.); - zip the remaining folder;
- send via email, cloud storage, or other file-sharing methods.
1. You want your game executable to have a custom icon. Which of the following is required?
2. You want the game to start on the main menu after building. What must you do?
3. You want to share your built Unity game with a friend. Which is the correct way?
¿Todo estuvo claro?
