Creating Motion Transitions

We've already created some in a previous section, but today we’ll make another kind of transitions, which are whip pans and zooms. They are totally independent and you can apply them further to any videos or photos inside After Effects.

In this chapter you've learned:

  • How to create zoom-out and swish pan transitions using Adjustment layers;
  • How to apply and animate effects like Transform and Motion Tile;
  • How to adjust keyframes and use the Graph Editor for smooth transitions;
  • How to simulate motion blur using the Directional Blur effect;
  • The flexibility and advantages of creating custom transitions for better control in your projects.
