Editing and Customizing Pages
With menus and widgets configured, the next step is to customize the pre-built pages included in the Starter Template. Rather than creating pages from scratch, existing pages such as Home, About, and Contact will be edited to align with project requirements.
As the Starter Template includes pre-built pages, manual page creation is unnecessary. The existing content can be edited to align with the website's intended purpose.
To edit a page:
- Go to Pages → All Pages in the WordPress dashboard;
- Click Edit on the page you want to update (e.g., Home, About, or Contact);
- The Block Editor will open, allowing you to modify text, images, and sections.
To update text on a page:
- Click on the text block you want to edit;
- Type your new content directly inside the block;
- Use the Block Toolbar to apply formatting, such as bold or italic text.
Tip: keep headings clear and concise; a strong headline helps visitors understand your site's purpose instantly.
Replacing images is simple:
- Click on an existing Image Block;
- In the Block Toolbar, click Replace → Upload;
- Select an image from your computer or choose one from the Media Library.
Tip: Use high-quality images to keep your website visually appealing.
To update a button:
- Click on the Button Block;
- Change the button text to something relevant (e.g., "Contact Us" or "Get Started");
- Click the link icon and enter the page URL where the button should direct visitors.
After editing a page, always preview your changes before publishing:
- Click the Preview button to see how the page will look;
- If everything looks good, click Update to save your edits.
