This lab is for those messages.

## What This Lab Does

You'll describe the situation in plain words. Claude uses the `email_draft` tool to produce a short, sendable message in the tone you ask for – direct, warm, professional, apologetic, whatever fits.

The trick is not that Claude writes better than you. The trick is that **Claude is not emotionally entangled** with the recipient. That alone produces a cleaner first draft than you would.

## The Tone Dial

The same situation reads completely differently depending on tone. The system prompt knows this and asks the user to pick:

| **Direct** | The other person is busy, the message is short, no relationship stakes |
| **Warm** | A relationship matters more than the immediate ask |
| **Professional** | Client work, money, anything in writing that might be referenced later |
| **Soft no** | Declining something you were invited to, without burning the bridge |

You tell Claude the situation and the tone. Claude does the wording.

## The One Rule

You are the sender, not Claude. Read the draft, edit a line if it sounds off, then send. Claude's job is to get you from blank page to almost-done in 30 seconds.
