Creating AWS Account
To start learning and using AWS, we obviously need an account for this purpose. As you can see in the screenshot above, we are interested in the huge button for creating a free account. AWS provides free limited access to many of its products, so don't forget to cancel your subscription and manage your projects if you're not ready to pay. You can see the amount of services available to you in the free tier below:
But let's move on to registration. When you click the button, you'll see a menu where you need to enter your email address and name, which you can later change. It's important to enter your own email address or the administrator's email address, as this will be used for account recovery and management:
After you confirm your email, you'll need to create a password for yourself. Pay attention to the password requirements that you can see in the screenshot:
Next, you'll need to enter your personal details for registration and your payment card. Don't worry, you won't be charged until you're in the free tier. This is required for verifying your identity.
The final step will be choosing the plan that suits you. We need the free plan since we're just learning, so select that and proceed.
After that, the registration is complete, and we are offered to choose a role and what we are interested in. This is not mandatory, but you can choose a role and interests for yourself.
After that, we need to click on "Go to the AWS Management Console" where we will see a menu:
Here we enter the root email and password that we provided during registration and click sign in. Great, you've successfully registered and logged into AWS.
Remember, your account and plan are free until you use data and services beyond your limits. So, if you're not ready to pay extra for using AWS, you should stay within free limits.
