Configuring Shipping and Delivery Settings
Setting up the right shipping and delivery options is crucial for a positive customer experience. In this chapter, we'll cover the steps to configure shipping zones, rates, and local delivery options to meet the needs of your customers.
Steps
- Access Shipping and Delivery Settings: from your Shopify dashboard, go to Settings and select Shipping and delivery;
- Set Up Shipping Zones:
- In the General Shipping Rates section, click Manage;
- Create different shipping zones based on regions or countries you serve.
- Add Shipping Rates:
- You can add multiple shipping rates for each zone, including options like Standard Shipping, Express Shipping, or even Free Shipping for orders over a certain amount;
- To create a rate, click Add Rate, name it, and set any necessary conditions.
- Enable Local Delivery and Pickup:
- If you offer local delivery or have a pickup location, configure these options under the Local Delivery and Local Pickup sections;
- Enter specific delivery areas and any pickup requirements to customize the experience.
- Save Your Settings: once you've configured your shipping and delivery options, be sure to click Save to apply your changes.
You can view an example of how your shipping options will appear in your customer's checkout in the screenshot below. In the example, we have free shipping on orders over $100 set up, which is also displayed.
With your shipping and delivery options set up, you're providing your customers with clear and flexible choices at checkout. Taking the time to configure these options ensures that your store can accommodate a range of customer preferences, from standard shipping to local pickup.
