Why Figma Is a Top Choice for Graphic Designers
Figma offers unique advantages that make it a powerful tool for graphic designers working on digital projects. Here are the main reasons you should consider using Figma:
- Cloud-based collaboration: Work in real time with teammates or clients, making it easy to share feedback and make live changes;
- Cross-platform accessibility: Access your projects from any device using a browser or the desktop app, so youβre never tied to a single computer;
- Version control: Figma automatically saves your work and keeps a history of changes, allowing you to roll back to previous versions if needed;
- Component system: Build reusable design components such as buttons, icons, and navigation bars, ensuring consistency and speeding up your workflow;
- Design and prototyping in one place: Create interactive prototypes directly in Figma without switching between tools, making it easy to test user flows and share interactive previews;
- Extensive plugin ecosystem: Enhance your workflow with plugins for tasks like icon import, color management, or accessibility checking;
- Figma Community: Access thousands of free templates, UI kits, and resources shared by other designers to jumpstart your projects or find inspiration.
Figmaβs feature set is designed to help you work faster, collaborate more efficiently, and deliver high-quality designs for web, mobile, or any digital platform.
One last thing, when you choose a file from Figma Community, it might give you two options like it did with me. The difference between the two is:
- Use UI Kit in a new file: Figma will use all the assets, icons, and components included in the file with a new project without copying all the frames and pages;
- Make a copy of this file: Figma will make a copy of the whole file including the frames, pages, assets, and everything else.
