No installation is required, just open the page and start chatting.
Free vs Paid Versions: What’s the difference?
- Free version (not signed in)
- Access Copilot chat directly in your browser
- Upload documents and generate content (text, images, 3D models)
- No strict usage limits, but:
- Slower responses during heavy use
- Shorter answers compared to paid users
- No integration with Microsoft 365 apps
- Personal Microsoft 365 account
- Same core features as free version
- Additional benefits:
- Integration with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Access to your files (OneDrive, emails, documents)
- More advanced AI models and longer conversations
- Personalized responses over time
Important: your activity may be used to improve AI models, so this version does not fully protect sensitive data.
- Business Microsoft 365 account (Enterprise)
- Includes everything from the personal version
- Enterprise data protection (green shield icon):
- Your data is treated as confidential
- Not used to train AI models
- Access to:
- Even more advanced AI models
- Additional capabilities (e.g. video generation)
- Deep integration with your organization’s data (e.g. SharePoint, emails, calendar)
This is the most secure and powerful version of Copilot.
