Fixing Mixed Excel Formats with Copilot

Real datasets often contain inconsistent formats. Dates may use different regional styles, and numbers may include symbols, text, or abbreviations.
Before analysis, you need to standardize these values so Excel can recognize them correctly.
Mixed date formats prevent proper sorting and filtering. Excel treats different formats as separate types, even if they represent the same date.
Use Copilot in Agent Mode to convert all entries in the date column into a single consistent format.
After the transformation, Excel recognizes all values as real dates, and sorting works correctly.
Columns with numbers may include text like 'USD', symbols, or abbreviations like 'k'. These values cannot be used for calculations until they are cleaned.
Ask Copilot to convert all entries into raw numbers and then apply consistent formatting, such as Currency.
Copilot removes unnecessary text, interprets abbreviations, and standardizes the column.
After each transformation, review the output to make sure everything is correct.
Check that dates sort properly and numeric values behave as expected in calculations.
