Navigating the effect controls panel
- Highlight a clip on the timeline;
- Go to the Effect Controls panel;
- Explore default options such as Motion, Opacity, and Time Remapping;
- Focus on Motion and Opacity for basic transformations.
Adjusting position, scale, and rotation
- Use the Position property to move the clip horizontally and vertically;
- Adjust the Scale property to resize the clip proportionally;
- Uncheck Uniform Scale to change width and height separately;
- Use Rotation to rotate the clip around its center.
Working with anchor points and transformations
- Adjust the Anchor Point to change the pivot for transformations;
- Modify values manually or use the Program panel for direct manipulation;
- Enable Motion controls to adjust position, scale, and rotation visually;
- Reset transformations using the Reset Parameter button.
Applying opacity and blending modes
- Expand the Opacity tab in the Effect Controls panel;
- Adjust transparency using the Opacity slider;
- Experiment with Blending Modes for creative effects;
- Layer multiple clips to test different blending options.
Creating animations with keyframes
- Toggle Animation for any effect (e.g., Scale or Position);
- Set a keyframe at the beginning of the clip;
- Move the playhead to a later frame and adjust the effect value;
- Premiere Pro will create a smooth transition between keyframes.
Finalizing your effects and animations
- Preview your animations and make adjustments if needed;
- Use the Step Back/Forward buttons to navigate keyframes;
- Delete unnecessary keyframes by selecting and pressing Delete;
- Experiment with different motion effects for dynamic storytelling.
Add zoom-ins and zoom-outs where they fit your story. You can also add some other animations if you want.
