Audio Recording in Premiere Pro

Let's begin with audio recording. A voice-over is a production technique where a voice is recorded and added to a project, but the voice itself is not part of the on-screen action.
- Connect your microphone (e.g., Blue Snowball) to your computer;
- Install any necessary drivers if required;
- Open Premiere Pro and go to edit > preferences > audio hardware;
- Select your microphone as the default input and click ok.
- Open Premiere Pro and create a new project;
- Name your project and organize files in a dedicated folder;
- Create a new sequence by selecting new item > sequence;
- Choose the HD 1080p 25fps preset and name the sequence (e.g., The Look Main).
- Place the playhead where you want the recording to start;
- Enable the voice over record button (microphone icon);
- Premiere Pro will display a countdown before recording begins;
- Speak clearly and steadily while monitoring audio levels;
- Stop recording when finished—your voice-over will appear in the project panel.
- Trimming mistakes: use the razor tool to cut out mistakes or unwanted pauses;
- Removing gaps: select empty spaces and press delete—Premiere Pro will auto-shift clips;
- Re-recording sections: cut the incorrect part, move clips, and re-record only the necessary portion;
- Adjusting volume: drag the volume line up or down to increase or decrease loudness.
- Organize audio files in a bin (e.g., Sound folder) to maintain a clean project structure;
- Ensure there are no unnecessary background noises or volume inconsistencies;
- Play back your recording and make final adjustments.
Write your own text and record it. If you don't have a microphone for your computer, use another device, like a smartphone. After recording, edit your audio and get it ready for the next chapter. If you’re stuck on ideas, you can ask AI for inspiration or use one of the sample texts:

The morning drifts through crowded streets, folding time into ordinary steps. You walk, thinking the day is yours alone — until a moment steps forward to meet you. No fanfare, no warning, just a shift, as if the air itself has changed. And in that shift, something new takes shape, subtle but certain. Some stories don't ask to be told. They simply find you;

The city breathes, and you move with it — unaware, yet perfectly in sync. A turn, a pause, a fleeting second that feels like forever. Something stirs, not loud, not urgent — just there, waiting to be noticed. And suddenly, the world exhales differently. A quiet change, like a whisper only you can hear. Not all beginnings are spoken. Some unfold in the silence between strangers.
