Organizing Date and Time Data for Analysis and Applications

bookIntroduction

Working with dates and times is important in many types of programs. Here are a few reasons why:

  • Many programs need to be able to perform calculations using dates and times, such as finding the difference between two dates or determining the current time and date;

  • Date and time data is often used to sort records in a database, and working with this data effectively can make it easier to retrieve specific records or analyze trends over time;

  • Date and time information is often used to schedule events or tasks, and being able to manipulate this data can help ensure that events are scheduled correctly;

  • Working with dates and times can also be important for presenting data to users in a meaningful way, such as by formatting dates and times for display in a user interface.

In Python, there are several built-in modules for working with dates and times, such as the datetime and time modules. These modules provide a variety of functions and classes for manipulating and formatting date and time data.

For this project we will explore the datetime module that provides classes for manipulating and formatting dates and times. The datetime class has several attributes that allow you to access the various components of the date and time, such as the year, month, day, hour, minute, and second. Enough talking, let's dive in our project!
