Exponentiation

Another basic operation is exponentiation. This operation is equivalent to multiplication by itself a multiple number of times. For example, 5 raised to the third power is 125, since 5 * 5 * 5 = 125.

To perform exponentiation in Python, use the ** operator. The base is on the left, and the exponent is on the right of the ** operator.
